Surfacing from academia with a PhD to his credit, Dr. Bruford writes a second book, informed by his research findings, for the University of Michigan Press. In the Spring, he takes time out to attend the Induction Ceremony for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with members of his old firm, Yes. Something about the passing of Allan Holdsworth on April 15th, in Bill’s opinion one of the most exciting musician’s with whom he’s ever had the privilege to perform, acts as a catalyst to complete the compilation and production of ‘1977-1980:Seems Like A Lifetime Ago’ , a boxed set of his first band Bruford for Autumn release on Winterfold Records. Edging back in to the record business may yet prove to be not without its hazards.
